About this tour

This boat tour from Split to Hvar takes you to four Dalmatian islands in a single day. The route covers Brač, the Pakleni Islands, Hvar, and Šolta. There is plenty of time for swimming, sightseeing, and lunch by the water.

The day starts at Golden Horn on Brač, Croatia’s most photographed beach. The white pebble shoreline shifts with the wind and currents. As a result, it looks different every time you visit. The water is clear and shallow enough to wade in. You can swim, dry off in the sun, and take photos before moving on.

Pakleni Islands

From there, the boat heads to the Pakleni Islands. This small archipelago sits just off Hvar. It is scattered with pine-covered islets, quiet lagoons, and hidden swimming spots. The boat drops anchor in a calm bay. Here you can snorkel, float, or just sit on deck and take it all in.

After that, lunch is served at a waterfront restaurant on one of the islands. Expect grilled fish, octopus salad, local wine, and a view that stretches across the Adriatic. There is no rush and no clock. Just good food and cold drinks in the shade.

Hvar

The afternoon belongs to Hvar. Stone streets, a fortress on the hill, and a main square that has looked the same for centuries. Hvar draws crowds for good reason. However, it still feels Mediterranean at its core. You get around two hours to wander the old town. You can also climb up to the fortress or grab a coffee by the harbour.

Šolta

On the way back to Split, the tour makes a final stop at Šolta. This quiet fishing village has a sheltered cove and a slower pace. It stays off most tourist itineraries. That is exactly why it feels so calm.

The boat

All tours run on custom-built Colnago speedboats. The maximum is 12 guests. The boat has an enclosed cabin, air conditioning, WiFi, and snorkelling gear. Because of the small groups, there is more space, less waiting, and a day that feels personal rather than packaged.

Itinerary

Board at the main promenade. The skipper gives a quick rundown while Split shrinks behind you and Brač appears on the horizon.

Zlatni Rat lives up to all the hype. A kilometer of white pebble beach curving into the sea, its color shifting from green to blue depending on the depth. Swim straight out toward the open water where the sea runs deep, or wade through the shallows along the shoreline. If you need a coffee, there are bars right on the beach. Two hours here fly by in an instant.

Heading south toward the Pakleni Islands. The channel between the islands is calm for most of the day.

Lunch happens here. Not on the boat and with no rush – at a proper table, in the shade, with a view. The restaurants know what they're doing. Order the catch of the day, take a swim while you wait, and eat slowly. Two hours is just right.

Hvar is fifteen minutes away.

Two hours in a town that needs no introduction. The main square dates back to the 13th century. It's a twenty-minute climb up to the fortress, and the view from there takes in the entire archipelago. Get lost in the side streets, grab a drink, sit down somewhere, and just watch the world go by. Hvar rewards those who explore it without a plan.

One more stop.

Forty-five minutes in a cove that stays quiet because most tours skip it. The water is warm from the afternoon sun. No beach bars, no crowds – just swimming and the sound of silence.

Back to the Riva as the light turns golden. Diocletian's Palace looks its best at this hour. So does dinner.
